Kairos Prison Ministries International Conference
From July 24 to 27, 2024, Louisville, Kentucky, played host to the Kairos Prison Ministries International Conference, a gathering that brought together passionate advocates for prison ministry from around the globe. Kairos South Africa was fortunate to send two delegates: our CEO and our Financial Director, who were eager to engage with fellow ministry leaders and share insights.
Each day began with uplifting praise and worship jam sessions, setting a positive tone for the events ahead. Attendees participated in various workshops led by inspiring guest speakers, fostering a spirit of collaboration and learning.
We were especially grateful for the warm greetings from our friends in the U.S., who played a pivotal role in helping us host Kairos Africa #1. Their support and camaraderie remind us of the shared mission that unites us all in this vital work.

On July 6, 2024, the Kairos Torch fundraiser brought together a vibrant community, united by a shared purpose of sharing the love of Christ with young men and women. Attendees were treated to a delightful feast featuring delicious curry and rice, perfectly complemented by the sweet indulgence of koeksisters for dessert. The culinary experience alone was worth it!
The event was not just about the food; it was a celebration of stories and connections. Inspiring speakers shared their journeys, offering heartfelt testimonies that highlighted the impact of Kairos Torch in our community. Their words resonated deeply, reminding us of all that the love of Christ brings the power of hope and transformation.

Malmesbury Team Formations
The Kairos Men’s Inside Ministry in Malmesbury is gearing up for a milestone 20th weekend. During this time, the 26 team members have been forming, collaborating, and working diligently. They recently focused on creating community-building posters. Additionally, team members engaged in thoughtful reflections on ten important topics, considering how they interconnect to form a cohesive and impactful message. Drawing from the wisdom shared by past Kairos team veterans, they encouraged one another to sit in a circle, fostering humility and unity.
Igniting the Torch: Reflections from Cape Town
Empowering Leaders, Fanning the Flame!
On the weekend of 21/22 June 2024, Cape Town hosted the Kairos Advanced Training for Torch. It was a gathering that left delegates inspired, equipped, and ready to carry the transformative work of this special ministry.
Beyond the enriching sessions, delegates experienced glimpses of what awaits the participants on a typical weekend. The ice breaker beach ball activity fostered laughter and camaraderie, breaking down barriers. And the masks and forgiveness ceremony allowed hearts to unburden, paving the way for healing and restoration.

From 12 to 100: A Remarkable Journey
A few years ago, our inaugural national conference welcomed a mere 12 delegates. Today, we stand proud as our numbers have surged to between 80 and 100 participants. This growth reflects not only the increasing relevance of our conference but also the collective commitment to fostering positive change in our ministry.
Setting Our Sights on 150: The 2025 Vision
As we bask in the success of this year’s conference, our eyes are firmly fixed on the horizon. The goal for the 2025 conference is ambitious yet attainable: to attract 150 passionate ministry workers who seek to share the love of God with those impacted by imprisonment. With each passing year, as the impact of the conference increases, our goal is to continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.

The heart of our conference lies in the workshops that ignite curiosity, spark dialogue, and equip our delegates with practical tools. Attendees enjoyed the sessions, engaged in lively discussions and skill-building exercises.
